Apollo to the Moon
Explore one of America’s most exciting eras as the country reaches for the moon in this compelling, dramatic presentation, originally commissioned by the Smithsonian Institute. It introduces today's young audiences to the glory days of the space program and includes over 100 NASA photographs and original broadcasts from space. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the first lunar landing in 1969!

Brave Irene
Join Irene, the plucky, determined dressmaker’s daughter, as she braves blustery weather to deliver a gown to the Duchess in time for her ball. This sparkling musical play by award winning playwright-composer Joan Cushing and based on the beloved book by William Steig, the creator of Shrek, is sure to enchant both young and old alike!
For grades K - 5

The Cay
Thrill to this adaptation of Theodore Taylor’s gripping classic novel! The Cay is the compelling journey of 11-year-old Phillip whose life is plunged into chaos when his ship is torpedoed, and he and a Caribbean man named Timothy escape on a crude raft to a deserted island. The young Virginia boy dislikes Timothy because he is huge, very old and black. Blinded in the shipwreck, the boy's only chance for survival is to let Timothy teach him the skills needed for life on the cay. Soon he discovers that his companion is a wise and dignified man and that the color of one's skin does not determine a person's worth in the world.

The Elves & the Shoemaker
Laugh when two merry elves arrive at a small village in the Black Forest to discover a poor, gentle shoemaker who clearly needs their assistance. Their good deeds, kindness and resourcefulness save the shoemaker and his wife from a bleak and unhappy holiday. This hilarious CTC production has been delighting students throughout the U. S. for two decades!

Goodnight Moon

Delight in this musical adaptation of the Margaret Wise Brown book that has been a favorite of children and their parents for over half a century. A small bunny goes through the gentle, reassuring ritual of bedtime as details from the wonderful illustrations by Clement Hurd come to life with lively musical numbers, colorful characters and tap dancing bears playing musical chairs in the Great Green Room.  "Good night stars/ Goodnight air/ Goodnight noises everywhere!"

Jack and the Beanstalk web image
Jack and the Beanstalk
Follow the lively adventures of young Jack through an imaginative use of both live actors and puppetry. Watch as he acquires the magic beans in trade for his beloved cow and encounters the menacing giant and his helpful wife at the top of the beanstalk. Using his ingenuity, Jack retrieves not only the gold but also the precious goose which lays the golden eggs and becomes a hero to the people of his village.
For grades K - 5.
Just So Stories
Be amused by the brilliant language and colorful characters in these classic stories by Rudyard Kipling, originally told to his own children over a century ago. These clever explanations of how things came to be in the world come to life on stage in these four tales of timeless appeal: The Cat That Walked By Himself, How the Camel Got His Hump, How the Whale Got His Throat and How the First Letter Was Written.

Meet the ever-spunky, resourceful Madeline in a musical play adapted from one of Ludwig Bemelman's captivating books. It's the night before Christmas and everyone is sick in bed with the flu except brave Madeline, who feels just fine and must take care of the eleven other little girls and Miss Clavel "in the old house in Paris all covered with vines."

The Princess and the Pea
Experience a time when there were great castles and beautiful princesses. In this zany farce adapted from the familiar Hans Christian Andersen story, you’ll meet the Prince, his scheming cousin and the “real” Princess so sensitive and so royal that she can feel a tiny pea hidden under the twenty mattresses of her bed.

Robinson Crusoe web image
Robinson Crusoe
Struggle with the English castaway Robinson Crusoe, the sole survivor of a shipwreck, in Daniel Defoe’s classic adventure story. The resourceful Crusoe attempts to survive on what he believes to be a deserted island - at least until he meets the cheerful and helpful native he names “Friday”. This famous novel inspired many future castaway stories, including The Swiss Family Robinson.
For grades 3 and up.

Rumpelstiltskin
Recall the Grimm Brothers' moral tale of promises made and promises broken. A poor miller tries to impress the royal cousin by boasting untruthfully that his beautiful daughter can spin straw into gold. The girl is locked in a room with a spinning wheel and some straw to accomplish this task. A strange little man appears and entices the young maiden to promise him her first born child if he assists her. Later, he returns to claim the baby in fullfillment of their bargain, but is undone by his own ego.
For grades K - 5.
